What Does Rsa Stand for in Banking

The RSA SecurID device provides an extra layer of security for Wells Fargo customers using our advanced online payments services, including Direct Pay. The device, which can be carried on a keychain, generates a random 6-digit Personal Access Code that is used to sign on to these services. The Personal Access Code changes every 60 seconds.

How does the RSA SecurID device work?

The RSA SecurID device generates a random 6-digit numeric Personal Access Code every 60 seconds. Access to certain Wells Fargo services is synchronized between this Personal Access Code and our internal security system. Plus, your RSA SecurID device will work anywhere you have access to Wells Fargo Online® services.

How does the RSA SecurID device make my online transactions more secure?

Your transactions are more secure because the device adds an extra layer of password protection. The Personal Access Code is a random number that changes every 60 seconds and each code can only be used once — making it almost impossible for someone to know your Personal Access Code.

When is the RSA SecurID device required?

When you sign on to services that use the device for authentication, you'll be prompted to enter your Personal Access Code.

What should I do if the device no longer works or I lose it?

Call Customer Service at 1-888-245-8454 and a representative will assist you.

If I lose the RSA SecurID device will I have to pay for a replacement?

No. There are no costs or fees associated with the replacement of a RSA SecurID device.

Am I at risk if my RSA SecurID device gets lost or stolen?

Unless someone also has your Wells Fargo Online® username and password, they will not be able to access services that are protected by the RSA SecurID device. However, you should report the lost or stolen device as soon as possible. Once you report a lost or stolen device, it is deactivated.

How long will it take for the RSA SecurID device to be delivered to me?

Once you complete the enrollment process for any service that uses the device for authentication, it will be delivered to your business address on file in 14-16 business days.

If I cancel my service, what do I do with my RSA SecurID device(s)?

You do not need to return the device. We recommend keeping the device in a safe place in case you reactivate your service, or choose to take advantage of new services that use RSA SecurID technology in the future.

Will the device work anywhere?

Yes. The device does not use a wireless signal to synchronize with Wells Fargo's internal security system, so it will work anywhere you have access to Wells Fargo Online services.

Is the device assigned per-person or per-company?

Each RSA SecurID device is registered to an individual person and cannot be shared.

Do I need more than one RSA SecurID device if I have multiple services (i.e., do I need one device for each Wells Fargo Online service that utilizes RSA SecurID)?

No. The device will work for all services available through Wells Fargo Online.
